I am doing a microcredential through a UK university on FutureLearn and the video steps are the most valuable part. This lets me download them to rewatch during my commute on the Tube.

FutureLearn courses come with a catch most learners discover too late: free access is time-limited, and once your course window closes, the video lectures get locked behind an upgrade paywall. Paid learners can also lose access when a course is retired or restructured. There is no built-in way to save the videos to your computer. This extension solves that. Open any FutureLearn course step with a video, click the download button, and the lecture saves as an MP4 at its original quality. No quality loss, no extra software needed. Working through a full course or microcredential? Queue up multiple steps and the extension downloads them one by one while you focus on studying. Automatic retry handles connection interruptions without losing progress. Files are organized by course and week number so your offline library is easy to navigate. Everything runs locally in your browser with nothing sent to outside servers. UK students on university short courses, international learners on microcredentials, and anyone with unreliable broadband who needs lectures cached locally will find this the simplest way to keep course content available on their terms.

The extension works with video content that is loaded in your browser during an active FutureLearn session, regardless of whether you are on a free or upgraded track.
You can navigate to each course step that contains a video and add it to the download queue. The extension processes them sequentially so you can queue multiple steps and let it run.
Videos are saved as MP4 files at the same resolution FutureLearn delivers them, typically 720p or 1080p depending on the course producer.
The extension focuses specifically on video content. Text-based steps, quizzes, and discussion activities are not captured.
The extension does not log into your account or use FutureLearn APIs. It only captures video URLs already loaded in your browser session.

Living in a rural area with unreliable broadband, this extension lets me download my FutureLearn lectures when I have a good connection and study them offline all week.

I take multiple FutureLearn short courses simultaneously. Being able to batch queue downloads from each course and organize them by week has been a real time saver.
